Deputies Shoot Armed Man After He Reaches for Gun

* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Bellflower, California — On Saturday, July 24, 2026, at approximately 8:48 p.m., Los Angeles County deputies responded to a call for service on the 10000 block of Artesia Boulevard, Bellflower, regarding an armed male individual who pointed a handgun at the victim. The male was later identified as 33-year-old Lee Davidson. Shortly after deputies arrived on scene, the victim provided a description of the suspect, his last seen direction of travel, and indicated he was armed with a handgun. A deputy located Davidson on the 17500 block of Grand Avenue, Bellflower. The deputy initiated a high-risk detention as additional deputies responded to assist, during which Davidson was observed with a handgun protruding from his front waistband. Despite repeated commands to raise his hands and get on the ground, Davidson refused to comply. A deputy deployed a TASER 10, but the initial deployment was ineffective. A subsequent TASER 10 deployment caused Davidson to fall to the sidewalk; however, he continued to disregard deputies' commands and reached for the handgun, at which point a deputy-involved shooting occurred. Deputies rendered medical aid to Davidson until the arrival of Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. Davidson was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No deputies or other persons were injured during this incident.
