Houston Officers Open Fire After Armed Man Raises Gun

* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Houston, Texas — On Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Houston Police Officers responded to a person down call at 8820 Westheimer Road. Officers arrived at the parking garage to find a male lying on the ground motionless and a male suspect standing over him with the weapon. Officers gave the suspect, James Wilson, multiple commands to drop the weapon, but he refused to comply. Wilson initially held the gun pointed toward the ground, made several remarks, then Wilson raised the gun in the officer's direction. Officers then discharged their weapons, striking him. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim and Wilson deceased at the scene.
