Officer Shoots Man After He Pulls Out a Large Knife

* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Corona, California — On July 17, 2026, Corona Police received multiple emergency calls about a violent attack near the 1200 block of East Parkridge Avenue. Witnesses told dispatchers that a man had assaulted a woman who was walking in the area, reportedly striking her several times with a rock. Other callers described the man as carrying a large knife and said he had been seen following another woman who was walking her dog. One witness stayed nearby to keep an eye on the suspect while helping the injured woman. Within minutes, a Corona police officer arrived and located 25-year-old Isaiah Masiel of Corona. According to footage later released by police, the officer repeatedly ordered Masiel to sit down and comply, but he refused. The situation escalated when Masiel pushed over the officer’s motorcycle, prompting the officer to draw his firearm and begin moving backward while requesting additional assistance. The confrontation continued as the officer repeatedly ordered Masiel to stop and kept retreating from him. Police said the officer ultimately backed away roughly 100 feet as Masiel continued advancing. At one point, he moved toward a vehicle where the injured woman and a witness were located, but the vehicle drove away. Masiel then turned back toward the officer with the knife raised and continued moving in his direction despite repeated commands to stop. The officer fired several rounds, striking Masiel once. Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures, but Masiel was pronounced dead at the scene by Corona Fire Department personnel. The woman suffered visible injuries and was treated by medical personnel, while no officers were injured.
